The Pakistan Meteorologist Department (PMD) has issued a fresh weather advisory for parts of the country.

Punjab, Sindh, and Balochistan experienced high temperatures and humid weather for a month, while Khyber Pakhtunkhwa witnessed rains and snowfall.

Chief Meteorologist Sardar Sarfaraz revealed that the first monsoon spell is likely to hit the country after Eid-ul-Adha.

Under the influence of the weather, several parts of the country, including Karachi are likely to witness "above-normal rains", he added.

Refuting the chances of rain in the three days of Eid-ul-Adha, he said the monsoon rains are likely to hit the country after June 19.

However, he added some plain areas would receive potential downpours during the Eid holidays.

Sardar Sarfaraz, avoiding forecasting the exact situation during monsoon, predicted that in various parts of the country, exceptional or ‘above then normal’ rains are anticipated while the actual situation of rains could not be predicted at the time of the spell.

He said the temperature across several parts of the country would remain between 35-36 degrees Celcius, while Karachi is likely to experience a normal temperature with cloudy weather.

Forecasting today’s weather in Karachi, the weatherman said hot and dry weather is likely to prevail over most parts of the city with 35-37 degrees Celsius maximum temperature, while the South-westerly winds were blowing in the city with 72 percent humidity level.
