Woman gives birth to quintuplets in Karachi

A couple residing in Baldia Town, Karachi, has welcomed quintuplets — three girls and two boys — born prematurely at a private hospital through an emergency caesarean section.

According to doctors, the babies were delivered several weeks ahead of schedule, resulting in extremely low birth weights and immediate respiratory complications. They were placed on oxygen support shortly after birth, and initial laboratory tests have been completed.

The hospital administration confirmed that all five newborns remain under continuous medical supervision in an intensive care unit. Their condition is said to be gradually improving.

Speaking to media, the father, Adnan Sheikh, shared that the quintuplets are his first children and that he got married only a year ago. He expressed both joy and concern over the unexpected multiple birth, stating that his wife is also in stable condition.

Adnan, who works as a driver for a private company, said he is thankful for the blessing but acknowledged the financial burden involved in prolonged neonatal care.
