Lahore residents have received encouraging news with the expansion of the city’s free Wi-Fi service to 200 locations, as directed by Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz.

The Punjab Safe City Authority has doubled the number of active Wi-Fi points from 100 to 200, significantly increasing accessibility across various areas such as Manga Mandi, Multan Road, Bund Road, Chohang, Shahpur Kanjran, Sunder, Valencia, Maraka, and others.

Maryam Nawaz highlighted that this initiative is aligned with the Digital Punjab Vision, aimed at providing essential free Wi-Fi services during emergencies. The service supports applications like the Police App and WhatsApp, facilitating app downloads and taxi bookings.

However, it's important to note that this free Wi-Fi service does not support entertainment apps such as Facebook, YouTube, and TikTok. Each Wi-Fi device covers an area up to 300 feet from its location.
