In a breakthrough innovation, two students from the University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Mardan have designed a cutting-edge wheelchair that can be operated with the user's mind.
The revolutionary wheelchair is intended for individuals who are paralysed or debilitated, and are bound to a wheelchair.
According to the inventors, Dawood and Faizan Akhtar, the wheelchair uses sensors and batteries to detect and respond to the user's thoughts, allowing them to move freely and independently.
"The wheelchair will not be operated with the help of hands or anyone else, but with the mind," explained Dawood.
"If you think to go forward, this chair will go forward. Whether to go back or left, everything will now be controlled by the mind," he added.
Another student Faizan said that the wheelchair is designed to be user-friendly, even for those who cannot speak.
"Disabled people can move the wheelchair with their mind and thoughts, just like normal people turn on and off the TV, AC, and lights. Even a disabled person can operate it easily."
This innovative technology has the potential to transform the lives of countless individuals with disabilities, providing them with autonomy and control.
