A resolution has been submitted in the Punjab Assembly calling for a complete ban on TikTok.
The resolution was tabled by opposition MPA Farrukh Javed Moon, urging the federal government to impose a nationwide ban on the platform.
According to the text of the resolution, TikTok’s live chat feature is allegedly promoting obscenity and vulgarity, luring the younger generation—particularly children—towards indecency.
It further stated that young boys and girls engage in explicit conversations and encourage each other to indulge in immoral activities, which are against Islamic social values.

The resolution argued that the youth are increasingly drawn to platforms like TikTok in pursuit of quick fame and money, resulting in social disruption.
The Punjab Assembly resolution therefore appeals to the federal government to immediately ban TikTok and its live chat feature to protect the younger generation from moral decay.
It is noteworthy that TikTok has faced temporary bans in Pakistan in the past over concerns related to vulgar content, immorality, and its adverse effects on the mental and moral upbringing of users.
