Another child narrowly escaped tragedy after falling into an open manhole in Lahore.

According to media reports, the incident took place in the Manawan area of Lahore, where a child fell into an uncovered sewerage manhole. Fortunately, people present at the scene acted quickly and managed to pull the child out safely without waiting for rescue teams.

CCTV footage of the incident has surfaced, showing the child walking near the BMC stop in Manawan when he suddenly slipped into the open manhole. As soon as bystanders noticed the incident, they rushed to help and rescued the child through their own efforts.

Local residents said they had repeatedly informed the assistant commissioner of Wagah Town about the dangerous open manholes in the area, but no action was taken.

They warned that uncovered sewerage holes had become a serious threat to lives and urged senior Punjab authorities to take immediate notice of the issue.

Last week, a woman and her young daughter lost their lives after falling into an open manhole near Bhatti Gate in Lahore. Following that tragedy, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz ordered a thorough investigation, and authorities later arrested five individuals in connection with the incident.
