Desecration case: Rajab Butt’s interim bail extended by Court

Central Sessions Court: Extended the interim bail of accused YouTuber Rajab Butt on a case of alleged desecration of Islamic symbols until 30th March.

The counsel for the complainant sharply criticised the accused for reaching the court late and prayed for the cancellation of his bail.

“Our stance was that the reporting time was 8:30, but the accused appeared at 9:30,” stated the complainant’s lawyer.

The complainant’s lawyer demanded that the accused’s bail be cancelled.

“We were fully prepared to present our evidence, but the accused’s lawyer did not appear,” said the complainant.

The court showed its discontent as Rajab Butt’s counsel, Mian Ali Ashfaq, did not appear and sent an application for official leave. The accused’s counsel pleaded for an adjournment, which the court accepted.

The case against Rajab Butt was registered at Haidri Market Police Station, and he had already obtained interim bail from the court.
