An organised network of drug dealers has picked an unexpected way to deliver narcotics in the educational institutes of Karachi by packing them in pizza and burger boxes, sources said on Thursday.

According to the sources, orders for drugs are being taken from schools, colleges, and university students in the metropolis via social media groups.

Two online rackets, owned by Dr Baloch and Pinki, take orders from students using Telegram and WhatsApp groups, police said.

The ‘Pinky’ group is being run by a woman namely, Anmol from Punjab’s Rahim Yar Khan, while 'Dr Baloch' is being operational from the Nushki district of Balochistan.

Police, quoting some of the pass-out students, said that the use of cocaine and ice has witnessed an increase among the students.

They revealed that the suppliers send women riders to dispatch the drugs.

According to the police, the price of cocaine is between Rs15,000 to Rs17,000 per gram while ice starts from Rs2,500 to Rs3,500.

The police claimed to have arrested 25 suppliers from educational institutions.

However, police urged parents and teachers to play their role in curbing the usage of drugs in educational institutes.
