Eight armed terrorists were killed by police and security forces on Wednesday after they stormed the Gwadar Port Authority Complex and opened firing, officials said.
Makran Commissioner Saeed Ahmed Umrani said that several explosions also occurred during the attack.
Gwadar Senior Superintendent of Police Captain (retd) Zohaib Mohsin said that upon reacting to the attack, police and security forces successfully killed eight assailants.
He further informed that the firing had completely stopped following the operation.
Police and security forces reached the scene when the attackers barged into the complex, which houses the passport office, Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) office, and other government offices, and opened intense firing.
According to Umrani, no law enforcer was hurt during the operation.
However, Majeed Brigade of the outlawed Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) has claimed responsibility for the attack.
