Fatal chairlift accident claims life in Kohistan

A man, Abdul Wakeel, aged 42, lost his life by falling off a chair lift over the Indus River in the Taraiz Banda area, Kohistan.

An official rescue,1122 Malik Sharif told the reporters that “the man at first helped his son get off the chairlift, immediately the chair lift started moving in a backward direction, and the man lost his control, fell on the riverside hundreds of feet below.      

 However, the chairlift commonly known as doli, which is usually used to transport people from one side to another across the Indus River in the Jalkot area, reportedly started moving backward due to a technical error.                   

The rescue official further added that the body was recovered and shifted to the nearby hospital. After completing the legal formalities, the body was handed over to the family.
