Father-daughter duo arrested for street crimes in Karachi

KARACHI — In a shocking revelation, New Karachi Police have arrested a father and his 16-year-old daughter for their involvement in multiple street crimes and motorcycle snatching incidents.

The suspects, Bilal and his daughter Shumaila, were apprehended following a targeted operation aided by CCTV footage, which captured them committing a robbery on April 14 in Sector 11-L, where they snatched a motorcycle at gunpoint from a citizen named Nouman.

According to New Karachi SHO Faiz-ul-Hasan, police recovered a snatched motorcycle, a weapon, and narcotics from the suspects. A case has been registered under FIR No. 214/2025 at New Karachi Police Station.

The SHO revealed that Bilal used his daughter during the crimes to evade suspicion and avoid arrest. During preliminary interrogation, Bilal confessed to being involved in at least four such crimes, all carried out with his daughter’s help.

Authorities also identified Faheem, Bilal’s brother-in-law, as an accomplice. Faheem, who is currently absconding, has a criminal record with multiple cases registered against him at various police stations. Efforts are underway to apprehend him.

The incident has sparked concern among law enforcement and the public, highlighting the disturbing trend of involving minors in criminal activities to exploit legal loopholes.
