Four of a family found dead at Motorway after 'consuming toxic juice'

A tragic incident unfolded within the jurisdiction of the Bhera police station on Friday when four members of a family were found dead in their car, and a fifth person was discovered unconscious after consuming 'toxic juice'.

The discovery was made by officers who were on routine patrol and noticed the vehicle parked by the side of the road near Bhera.

Upon approaching the car to offer assistance, the officers found all five individuals in a state of semi-consciousness. The victims were quickly transported to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital in Bhera, where doctors confirmed that four family members had passed away. The sole survivor, a 30-year-old man named Umar Qasim, was in critical condition.

The family, who resided on McLeod Road in Lahore, was traveling from Lahore to Islamabad in a car bearing the registration number LEF 7339 on the M-2 Motorway. The deceased have been identified as Romila, 60, Mahwish, 30, Samar, 28, and Aun, a 4-year-old child.

After regaining consciousness, Umar Qasim provided a crucial piece of information to the police, stating that they had consumed juice while traveling, after which they began to lose consciousness. Police subsequently recovered empty juice boxes from the car, which were later found to be expired.

The bodies of the deceased have been transferred to THQ Hospital in Bhalwal for further investigation. Authorities are looking into the possibility of food poisoning from the expired juice as the cause of this heartbreaking incident.

The investigation is ongoing as they work to uncover more details surrounding the family's tragic deaths.
