Grave of 6-year-old girl desecrated in Karachi over non-payment of dues

In a shocking incident, a gravedigger in Karachi's Pehalwan Goth, desecrated the grave of a young girl after her family failed to pay the agreed fee.

The incident has sparked outrage in the community and has reached the attention of law enforcement authorities, including the Additional Inspector General (AIG).

According to social media activist, Fahad Baloch, the family already laid their daughter to rest, but due to non-payment, the gravedigger took the drastic and inhumane step of breaking open the grave. He then removed the body and callously discarded it.

The gravedigger did not stop there; he also physically assaulted the grieving family members when they confronted him, further adding to their trauma.

The incident has caused widespread shock and anger, leading to a police investigation. However, the gravedigger responsible for this heinous act has since gone into hiding, evading arrest. The authorities are actively searching for him to ensure justice is served.

The matter has also escalated within the local Pashtun community, with both parties involved. In an attempt to resolve the issue without further legal complications, a jirga (tribal council) has been convened.
