Househelp steals dollars, dirhams and gold from Karachi home

Cash, valuables and relevant documents were reportedly stolen by a domestic servant from a house in Karachi’s North Nazimabad.

The maid had been employed just two days prior to the incident, as claimed by the victim’s family. They said she showed up alone the first day and then returned a second day with another woman.

On her second visit, the domestic help allegedly broke open cupboard lockers and decamped with gold jewellery, foreign currency like dollars and dirhams etc besides other valuables.

The family also revealed that crucial papers, such passports and national identity cards, were taken from the lockers. The locks were broken very well and in a professional way,” they said.

It is an incident of North Nazimabad police station in District Central. Police said that an FIR has also been lodged and the culprits, who are not cited in reports, will be arrested soon.

Police have advised residents to be careful while employing domestic help and not let anyone in until Identity is verified.
