“Imran Khan was not surprised at all, when he heard about his Toshakhana verdict," says Barrister Salman Safdar

Barister Salman Safdar spoke to the media right after the sentence was announced.

Barrister Salman Safdar told the media, “Imran Khan was not surprised at all. When he heard his sentence, he was smiling. Imran Khan has instructed me to file an appeal in the High Court.” 

Safdar told the media that he is being kept in very difficult condition and is in complete isolation. No one is allowed to meet him and the security is very strict.

He added, “It was very difficult for me to speak with him. He wanted to meet me and talk to me.”

Earlier today, Former Prime Minister and PTI founder, along with his wife Bushra Bibi, have been sentenced to 10 years of imprisonment each.

Additionally, both were handed separate sentences of seven years each under Section 409 of the Pakistan Penal Code. In total, they have been sentenced to 17 years in prison each under the same provison. The verdict was announced by Special Judge Central Shah Rukh Arjumand.
