Lahore: Anila, the teacher injured in the roof collapse at a tuition centre in Kahna, is receiving treatment at Jinnah Hospital, where she shared details of the incident and her family's financial circumstances.

The incident occurred a day earlier in Basti Eid Gah near Qurban School on Ferozepur Road, where dozens of children were attending classes when the roof of a room inside a residential building caved in.

Speaking from the hospital, Anila said she had been giving private tuition because of financial difficulties.

She explained that her husband earns a living by operating a handcart near a local market.

She said she had been teaching young children for the past two years, with around 30 to 35 students enrolled in her tuition classes.

Recalling the incident, Anila said she was trapped beneath the debris after the roof collapsed and could not remember what happened afterward.

The teacher said the roof had been leaking, prompting repair work to be carried out. However, she insisted that she had no idea it could collapse.

She also confirmed that her daughter, who was injured in the incident, has recovered and has been discharged from the hospital.
