An Islamabad police officer was filmed making a threatening announcement from a mosque’s loudspeaker, warning children and their families against violating the kite-flying ban.
The officer, who identified himself as SHO Secretariat Ashfaq Warraich, used aggressive language to intimidate residents, warning them of severe consequences, including the demolition of their homes, if they were found engaging in kite flying.
The video sparked widespread criticism online, with people questioning the professionalism and ethics of the police officer.
Many condemned his use of inappropriate language, arguing that he should have raised awareness about the ban in a more responsible manner.
“Tell your children not to fly kites. It’s a bloody activity and poses a risk to people’s lives. If anyone’s child is caught flying a kite, I will file an FIR against his father and beat him with shoes in the middle of the street,” he said.
