A Karachi court has sentenced a man to death for murdering his former wife’s husband in 2024.

Accused Riaz alias Raju was found guilty of stabbing the husband of his ex-wife to death.

The additional district and sessions judge (East) announced the verdict in the murder case, handing down the death sentence to the convict.

In its detailed judgment, the court noted that there were no contradictions in the statements of the prosecution witnesses. It observed that the defence counsel failed to extract any inconsistencies during cross-examination and that the case was also supported by eyewitness testimony.

The judgment stated that the evidence on record established that the victim had married the accused’s former wife, a matter that had led to a dispute between the two men.

According to the prosecution, the accused attacked the victim with a knife and killed him.

The incident took place in February 2024, after which a case was registered against the accused at PIB police station.
