In just 11 months of 2025, Karachi recorded over 60,700 crimes, in which, 80 people died while resisting robberies, according to CPLC report.

The Citizen Police Liaison Committee (CPLC) report stated that thieves in Karachi stole 35,749 motorcycles, and another 6,078 were snatched at gunpoint.

As many as 16,278 people lost their phones to street crime.

Thieves made off with 1,728 cars, and 284 more were taken at gunpoint. Then there’s extortion—89 cases this year—and 13 kidnappings for ransom.

Overall, 528 lives were lost due to various crimes in 11 months of 2025 in Karachi, with 80 of those deaths happening while resisting robberies.

These stats only count the cases people actually reported. Plenty of people never bothered going to the police, especially after losing a phone or getting mugged.
