Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) South, Asad Raza has disclosed shocking details in a chilling child sexual abuse scandal after the arrest of a fruit vendor from the Qayyumabad area, who turned out to be a serial child rapist.

Speaking on a private news channel, SSP Raza revealed that the accused had manipulated minors into silence, preventing them from confiding in parents or reporting the abuse to police.

During the probe, it was discovered that in 2022 a 12-year-old boy had informed his father about being assaulted by the vendor. However, the father, due to financial constraints, refrained from filing a complaint.

The SSP further shared that the suspect once had an accomplice who later died in an accident, leaving him to continue the crimes alone for years.

Investigations also uncovered that the accused had extensively used social media to watch disturbing videos, from which he copied methods to commit and conceal the crimes. He even maintained detailed records of his assaults.

The breakthrough came when one of his victims, a young girl, unknowingly handed over the suspect’s USB to a local computer shop to download songs. Upon discovering the disturbing content, the shopkeeper immediately informed the community and alerted the police.

Police have also added charges under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA) to the FIR against the suspect. SSP Raza urged the families of other victims to come forward and record their complaints to aid the investigation.
