Mentally challenged girl raped by her relative in Punjab

A mentally challenged girl was allegedly raped by her relative in Lodhran city of Punjab, police said on Wednesday.

According to police, the sexual assault incident occurred in Gailywal area a day earlier.

A case was registered against the suspect under Section 376 (punishment for rape) of the Pakistan Penal Code on the complaint of the victim girl's father.

A suspect, who is the victim's relative, was also arrested by the law enforcers for his alleged involvement in the case.

Police said they would investigate the matter further after the medical report of the victim girl.

However, no further details of the case were provided by the police.
