The mother of Bano, a Baloch woman who was shot dead in Quetta’s Degari area, defended her daughter's killing and urged authorities to release tribal chief Sherbaz Satakzai, who allegedly ordered the execution.
Bano and a man named Ihsan were reportedly shot dead on the orders of Sherbaz Satakzai, head of the Satakzai tribe, after being accused of having an illicit relationship.
A video of the double murder, captured in broad daylight, surfaced online days later and sparked outrage on social media over the continued use of so-called ‘honour’ as justification of violence against women.

Authorities have since arrested 18 individuals believed to be involved in the incident. The tribal chief, Sherbaz Satakzai, was presented in court and remanded into the custody of the Special Crime Investigation Wing (SCIW) for two days.
However, in a recent video message, Bano’s mother appeared holding the Holy Quran and declared that her daughter was killed in accordance with tribal traditions. She also demanded the immediate release of Satakzai, portraying him as innocent.
