There is no respite from the growing menace of street crime in Karachi as over 15,000 citizens were robbed of their valuables in the metropolis in just two months of the year 2024.

The data issued by the Citizens-Police Liaison Committee (CPLC) on Monday showed that 36 people lost their lives while resisting robbery in January and February and over 100 residents of the city were injured in such incidents.

Almost 106 home invasions have been reported across Karachi, so far, and over 4,200 people have reported mobile-snatching incidents in the port city.

As many as 50 cars have been snatched while over 300 have been theft from Karachiites in two months. 

Meanwhile, more than 4,700 motorcycles have been stolen and snatched from the residents in Karachi.

The situation in the city has turned from bad to worse, but the police continue to claim that everything is under control.
