Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) seniour leader Dr Asim Hussain announced that he would bear all expenses for the education of minor siblings Ayan and Anabiya, who returned home on Wednesday 13 hours after going missing from the North Nazimabad area of Karachi in the late hours of Tuesday.

The announcement from Dr Asim came after media reports claimed that both siblings had been unable to attend school since COVID-19.

“Anabiya and Ayan will be provided with free admission to Ziauddin School, along with free books and uniforms,” the former federal minister's spokesperson said.

According to the reports, 12-year-old Ayan had received education up to the 2nd standard, while 11-year-old Anabiya had received education up to the 1st standard.

However, Ayan and Anabiya came into the spotlight after leaving the house of their maternal relatives following an alleged quarrel with their aunt.

According to their statement before the court, they spent the night in a stranger’s house who took them from a locality, while CCTV footage showed that a car dropped them off at a shopping mall in North Nazimabad.

However, the court handed over custody of the children to their elder aunt, named Farheen aka Sonia, and directed her to submit surety bonds of Rs500,000 for each custody.

Moreover, the court also ordered to put children and their aunt's names to the Exit Control List (ECL).
