Robber pulls woman’s veil during robbery in Karachi’s Korangi area

In a brazen broad daylight robbery on Ferbruary 16, three muggers targeted a woman and a shopkeeper in Karachi’s Korangi area.

The incident was captured on CCTV, which later surfaced online, showing the robbers fleeing the scene with ease after committing the crime.

The video footage showed two women standing in a mobile shop when two armed muggers entered.

One of the robbers pointed a gun at a woman clad in a burka, while the other woman stood aside.

As the woman attempted to resist, one of the muggers forcefully pulled her veil, causing it to fall off, and then proceeded to snatch her mobile phone. It is unclear from the footage whether the second woman standing beside her was also robbed.

Meanwhile, the second mugger turned to the shopkeeper and demanded that he hand over cash and valuables. A third accomplice then arrived on a bike, joining the robbery.

The shopkeeper, however, refused to comply and was forced to open the shop’s grill, which was covered.

In a moment of resistance, the shopkeeper confronted the robbers and stepped out of the shop. In response, one of the muggers fired a shot, fortunately missing the shopkeeper.

Despite the shopkeeper's resistance, the armed robbers managed to escape the scene with the stolen items.

Onlookers gathered at the scene, and the woman in the burka collapsed on the floor after losing her valuables in the incident.

In January, street criminals killed five citizens for resisting a robbery, while on the first day of February, robbers shot and killed a shopkeeper in the Korangi Industrial Area for resisting.

Despite the ongoing bandit rule in the city, police officers claim that there has been a decrease in the number of robberies.
