Robbers sedate Karachi rickshaw driver to steal his vehicle

Two unidentified men stole a rickshaw in Karachi after one of the suspects sedated the driver by offering him a drink. The exact location of the crime remains unconfirmed.

A video circulating on social media showed a man posing as a passenger inside a rickshaw. He stopped the vehicle, then stepped outside, made the driver wait and and pretended to talk on the phone. 

Moments later, the driver joined the man outside, sitting on nearby stairs. The suspect's accomplice then arrived with drinks for both men.

The footage showed the driver fainting shortly after consuming his drink. The suspect also laid down beside him for a while. Then, once the driver lost consciousness, he took the rickshaw and flee.

While CCTV footage reportedly captured the entire incident, there are no reports of any action from the authorities.

The driver's fate and whether he filed a police complaint after regaining consciousness are also unknown.

The incident highlights the growing fear among Karachi residents regarding their safety and possessions due to rising mugging incidents.

While the Sindh government has issued strict directives for police officials to prevent mugging incidents, there is little respite for residents. 

People continue to lose valuables, and even when CCTV footage surfaces, criminals remain at large.
