The Sindh Cabinet has approved the release of Rs960 million for the procurement of public transport buses.

The decision was taken during a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah, where approval was also granted for the allocation of Rs5.6 billion for the Thar Coal railway line project.

Briefing the meeting, Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah stated that under the project, a 105-kilometre-long railway line will be laid from Islamkot to Chhor.

The railway line will facilitate the transportation of coal from Thar to Karachi and other parts of the country.

He added that the railway project is being implemented on a 50:50 cost-sharing basis between the Sindh government and the Ministry of Railways.

The meeting also discussed the purchase of a historic building in Karachi for the establishment of an IT tower.

It was informed that a privately owned building has been selected for the Sindh IT Tower project.
