South Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Asad Raza has requested the Sindh Inspector General of Police (IGP) to seek the Balochistan government's intervention in arresting Shahzain Marri for assaulting an individual with his guards in Karachi's Boat Basin area.

The incident occurred after a Toyota Surf stopped abruptly in the middle of the road and deliberately collided with a vehicle behind it on February 19.

However, the driver of the Surf allegedly hurled abuses at them before overtaking their car. Moments later, the vehicle sped ahead, reversed, and intentionally rammed into their car from the front.

Following the collision, several armed men stepped out of the Surf and viciously attacked the two victims. One of them sustained a head injury after being struck with the butt of a gun.

The Boat Basin police registered a case on February 21 under Sections 147, 148, 149, 324, 504, 506B, and 337A(i) of the Pakistan Penal Code. The investigation was transferred to the relevant police department.

A video of the incident online helped the police arrest several private guards, however, the prime suspect remains at large, prompting DIG South Asad Raza to write to Inspector General Police Ghulam Nabi Memon, requesting him to contact the Balochistan government.

Narrating the incident, Raza informed that at least five guards were arrested, but Shahzain Marri and his accomplice managed to escaped to Balochistan.
