A horrifying crime in Faisalabad, reminiscent of the 2020 Lahore-Sialkot Motorway incident, has sent shockwaves across the country after armed robbers gang-raped a woman following a robbery.
According to media reports, the incident took place near Motorway Bridge 62 in the jurisdiction of Sandal Bar Police Station, where three dacoits intercepted a couple, Adnan and his wife Shamaila, at gunpoint.
The assailants tied up the husband and subjected the wife to a brutal gang-rape before fleeing with their mobile phones and cash.
Following the complaint lodged by Adnan, Faisalabad City Police Officer (CPO) Sahibzada Bilal Umar took notice of the case and instructed SP Iqbal Town Abid Zafar to ensure the immediate arrest of the perpetrators.
A special investigation team was formed, leading to the detention of four suspects, while police raids continue to track down all those involved.
SP Abid Zafar assured that justice would be served swiftly, with interrogations and further investigations underway.

This tragic incident has reignited memories of the September 2020 Lahore-Sialkot Motorway case, where a woman was gang-raped in front of her children after her car ran out of fuel near Gujjarpura, Lahore.
The lack of timely police intervention in that case had sparked nationwide protests and demands for stricter security measures and legal reforms.
The Faisalabad case has once again raised concerns over public safety, law enforcement response, and the urgent need for stricter measures to curb such heinous crimes.
