The Pakistan Cricket Board's (PCB) high-level connection camp was held at a local hotel in Lahore, aiming to establish a clear and unified vision for the future of national cricket.
According to sources, the event concluded with a clear message to players: "unity and support for captains are crucial for success".
Sources revealed that the cricket body focused on the importance of teamwork and unity among players, stressing that regardless of the captain or format, collective support is essential.
The players were urged to put aside individual concerns and work together for the betterment of the country's dwindling cricket.
Moreover, the PCB indicated that there would be no changes in captaincy, reassuring skippers across all formats that their positions were secure.
Chairman PCB Mohsin Naqvi highlighted the 'need for unity', ensuring players that they won't face removal or dropping without justification.
To address player concerns, the PCB will establish a two-member committee, independent of management, where players can freely discuss issues.
During the camp, sources said, players expressed worries about communication gaps between international and domestic cricket departments.
In a separate meeting with coaches, players sought clarity on workload management and selection policies.
The PCB's move aims to boost team morale and performance, particularly amidst speculation surrounding Babar Azam's white-ball captaincy.
Despite lackluster performance, Azam is likely to continue leading the team, sources informed.
The PCB's stance "prioritises stability and unity over captaincy changes".
The connection camp's outcome is expected to "positively impact Pakistan's cricket landscape, fostering a cohesive team environment".
