Bangladesh recently celebrated one of their most remarkable cricket achievements by securing a clean sweep against Pakistan in a two-Test series.
The standout performer of the series was Mehidy Hasan Miraz, who took 10 wickets across the two matches. His exceptional efforts earned him the Player of the Series award.
Reflecting on his achievement, Mehidy said, "I'm really happy. This is the first time I won the Man of the Series award overseas. Batting at number 8 is a tough job, but I just tried to support the batsmen, especially in partnerships with Mushi [Mushfiqur Rahim] and Litton [Das]."
He also shared his joy over taking a five-wicket haul in the challenging conditions, noting, "It's been difficult to bowl on this pitch, but getting five wickets is a good moment for me, and I'm hopeful for even better performances in the future."
Mehidy, who had missed out on the World Cup squad, expressed gratitude for the opportunity to contribute to this historic series and dedicated his award to a cause close to his heart. He dedicated the Player of the Series award to the family of a rickshaw puller who tragically lost his life during a recent anti-discrimination protest in Bangladesh.
Miraz honored his commitment by donating the prize money from the Pakistan series to the family of the rickshaw puller, fulfilling his promise to support those affected by the protests.
