Barcelona fans raise pro-Palestinian chants during basketball match against Maccabi Tel Aviv

During a EuroLeague basketball match on Thursday, Barcelona fans enthusiastically raised pro-Palestinian slogans as their team faced Maccabi Tel Aviv. The video of the chants quickly went viral on social media.

In the footage, chants in support of Palestine can be heard echoing through the stadium while the game continues.

Maccabi Tel Aviv and other Israeli sports teams have faced protests due to the ongoing genocide in Gaza and the atrocities endured by Palestinians.

This is not the first time that slogans in support of Palestine took center stage at an international sports event.

In January, pro-Palestinian supporters released a stink bomb onto the court during a basketball match between Paris and Maccabi Tel Aviv, despite heavy police security.

Similarly, in December, a match between French basketball team Nanterre 92 and Israeli side Hapoel Holon was disrupted when a group of demonstrators waving Palestinian flags entered the court.

Last November, Israeli supporters clashed with pro-Palestinian demonstrators after a football match in Amsterdam, leading to widespread riots in the city.
