CM Gandapur announces Rs5 million reward for gold medalist Arshad Nadeem

Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Ali Amin Gandapur, announced a reward of Rs5 million for Pakistan javelin ace Arshad Nadeem, who made the country proud by winning a gold medal at the Paris Olympics 2024.
The announcement was made during the opening ceremony of the Inter-District Inter Academy Games at Peshawar's Hayatabad Sports Complex on August 14.
Addressing the event, Chief Minister Gandapur emphasised the importance of nurturing talent among youth.
"I will invite Arshad Nadeem for 3 days to come to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and train our players as well," The PTI stalwart said.
"Sport gives fitness and power to a person. Imran Khan [jailed PTI founder] is the biggest player who is standing firm and fighting for your rights," he added.
CM Gandapur also announced prizes worth Rs3 million for the winner and runner-up of the inter-district inter-academy games.
The event features over 400 players competing in three different categories of sports.
Arshad made the country proud on August 8 when he threw a javelin at the record-breaking spot of 92.97 metres at the Paris Olympics 2024.
The throw made him able to end Pakistan's 40-year wait for an individual gold medal at the Summer Games.
Following the achievement, Arshad was showered with announcements of cash prizes and rewards from politicians and celebrities.
President Asif Ali Zardari also announced to honour the national star with Hilal-e-Imtiaz, the second-highest civilian award, for his outstanding performance at the Paris Olympics 2024.
