Blue Shirts will not travel to Pakistan for the ICC Champions Trophy, scheduled to take place in February and March 2025, according to reports in Indian media.
India's matches are currently scheduled to be held at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has already shared the schedule for the mega event with the International Cricket Council (ICC), which includes a highly anticipated match between Pakistan and India on March 1st at Gaddafi Stadium.
However, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has not confirmed or denied its country's participation in the tournament.
Indian media reports suggested that there is a strong possibility that Rohit-XI team will not travel to Pakistan.
Local publications said that a hybrid model is being considered for the mega tournament.
"Under the model, India's matches would be held in either Sri Lanka or the United Arab Emirates (UAE) like Asia Cup 2023," Indian news channels reported.
Despite the uncertainty, PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has stated clearly that the Champions Trophy 2025 will be hosted by Pakistan, and that "the entire tournament will be played in the country".
It's worth noting that there have been no bilateral series played between Pakistan and India since 2013, and the Blur Shirts have not visited neighbouring country to play any tournament since 2008.
The final decision on India's participation in the Champions Trophy 2025 will be taken by the Modi-led government, according to reports.
