Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori hosted a grand ceremony to honour the Olympic gold medalist Arshad Nadeem at Governor House in Karachi.

During the ceremony, the 27-year-old athlete showcased his javelin throw skills on the Governor House lawn.

Following the event, Tessori treated Arshad to a traditional Nihari meal.

On this occasion, the Governor expressed his intention to visit Arshad Nadeem's village soon.

To further delight the national hero's taste buds, Governor Sindh took him to Burns Road, a famous food street in Karachi, where he indulged in a refreshing glass of Lassi.

Arshad Nadeem exclaimed that drinking Lassi after the savory Nihari had doubled the pleasure.

He praised the food in Karachi, saying it was delicious and expressed his gratitude to the Governor for showing him immense respect during his visit.

Arshad Nadeem added that the warm hospitality had made him feel so welcome that he didn't want to leave Karachi.

The sportsman made the country proud on August 8 when he threw a javelin at the record-breaking spot of 92.97 metres at the Paris Olympics 2024.

The throw made him able to end Pakistan's 40-year wait for an individual gold medal at the Summer Games.

Following the achievement, Arshad was showered with announcements of cash prizes and rewards from politicians and celebrities.

President Asif Ali Zardari will confer Hilal-e-Imtiaz, the second-highest civilian award, on the national hero for his outstanding performance at the World Games.
