Following a heavy 61-run defeat to India, Pakistan’s team management is reportedly considering resting senior players ahead of their decisive group match against Namibia.

According to media reports citing sources, there is discussion within the camp about giving Babar Azam and Shaheen Afridi a break for the upcoming fixture.

Two to three changes to the playing XI are said to be under consideration.

The management is understood to be weighing up the option of testing their bench strength in place of senior figures.

Pakistan’s final group-stage match against Namibia is scheduled for 18 February.

The match carries significant importance, as an upset defeat would end Pakistan’s World Cup campaign. Victory is essential to secure a place in the Super Eight stage.

However, reports suggest that if the match is washed out due to rain, Pakistan could still progress to the next round.
