The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) reportedly decided to hire foreign pitch curators to ensure the creation of pitches that meet international standards.
Sources said the cricket body decided to appoint foreign pitch curators after Chairman Mohsin Naqvi showed keen interest in hiring international experts to upgrade the grounds and create pitches that meet high standards.
However, the PCB has not yet reached a deal with any nor disclosed from where they would pick the curators.
The cricket officials also decided that the international curators would train locals.
The process of appointing foreign curators will be completed soon, as PCB wants high-quality pitches before the champion trophy 2025, being hosted by Pakistan.
It is pertinent to mention that recently, the cricket board appointed former South African batter Gary Kirsten and former Australian pacer Jason Gillespie as white-ball and red-ball, respectively, coaches.
Following a fresh hiring, the board has been deliberating to appoint foreign coaches for women's teams as well.
However, Coach Gary Kirsten will join the team in the England tour, while Kirsten will coach Pakistan in the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024.
