Former Pakistani all-rounder Shahid Afridi and Indian cricketer Shikhar Dhawan recently engaged in a heated exchange on social media over the Pahalgam attack.
Afridi had questioned the silence of Indian army over the deadly sh0oting at such a highly sensitive location, criticising India's rushed attempt to blame Pakistan for the incident.
In response, Shikhar Dhawan shared Afridi's remarks and wrote that he was "immensely proud" of the Indian Army.
Afridi hit back with a sarcastic remark: "Chhoro jeet haar ko, aao tumhe chai pilata hoon Shikhar [Forget winning or losing, let me serve you some tean, Shikhar] #FantasticTea"
Earlier, Shahid Afridi slammed the Indian government for not responding to the Pahalgam attack in a timely manner and failing to apprehend the perpetrators, yet quickly shifting the blame to Pakistan.
“For one hour, terrorists were free to kill people, and not a single soldier from the 800,000 army could reach there, but they shifted the blame to Pakistan within ten minutes,” he said.
Shahid Afridi stated that it was India’s own ‘blunder,’ adding that their government allegedly staged the attack. He also claimed that India deliberately made some videos go viral on the internet, alleging that those who had died in the attack were later found to be alive.

He emphasised that no country or religion supports terrorism, adding, “Pakistan and Islam have always promoted peace, and we have always advocated for peace with India.”
He also shared that during his cricketing career, the team always faced threats from India, saying, “We didn’t even know if we would be allowed to travel to India before the World Cup.”
He further questioned India’s double standards, stating that while cricket teams are not allowed to travel to India, the Indian kabaddi team is allowed to travel to Pakistan.
He maintained that if there are to be no relations, it should be applied universally and not just in cricket.
