T20 World Cup: Pakistan hammer Namibia to seal Super 8 spot

Pakistan cruised to a comprehensive 102-run victory over Namibia in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, booking their place in the Super 8 stage with an assured all-round performance.
The match, played in Colombo, saw captain Salman Ali Agha win the toss and opt to bat first — a decision that laid the foundation for a dominant display.
Thanks to a magnificent century from Sahibzada Farhan, Pakistan posted a formidable total of 199 for 3 in their allotted 20 overs, setting Namibia a target of 200 runs.
Chasing 200, Namibia were bundled out for just 97 in the 18th over.
Two changes were made to Pakistan’s line-up for the fixture, with Mirza Salman and Khawaja Nafay coming in for Shaheen Afridi and Abrar Ahmed.
Pakistan Innings
Pakistan opened with Sahibzada Farhan and Saim Ayub. However, Ayub fell for 14 runs with the score on 40.
Captain Salman Ali Agha played a brisk knock of 38 from 23 deliveries before losing his wicket, while Khawaja Nafay contributed 5 runs.
At the other end, Farhan produced a superb innings, registering his maiden T20 World Cup century. He reached the landmark off 57 balls, striking four sixes and ten fours. He remained unbeaten on 100.
Shadab Khan also chipped in with a valuable 36 as Pakistan finished on 199 for 3.
For Namibia, Jack Brassell claimed two wickets, while Gerhard Erasmus picked up one.
Namibia Innings
In reply, Namibia’s batting line-up collapsed under pressure and was dismissed for 97 in the 18th over.
Steenkamp top-scored with 23, while Alexander managed 20.
For Pakistan, Shadab Khan returned figures of 3 for 19, and Usman Tariq impressed with 4 for 16.
With this victory, Pakistan advanced to the Super 8 from Group A alongside India national cricket team.
