The Gaza genocide has resulted in a devastating toll on children, with an average of 10 children per day losing one or both legs due to Israeli attacks, according to UNRWA's Commissioner-General Philippe Lazzarini.
Figures from UNICEF, the UN children's agency, revealed the alarming rate of limb amputations among children in Gaza, with the numbers not including those who have lost hands or arms.
The one-sided war has already claimed the lives of thousands of children, with many more injured, according to Save the Children.
The humanitarian organisation estimated that over 21,000 children are missing, trapped under rubble, detained, buried in unmarked graves, or separated from their families.
Israel's relentless bombing has led to a catastrophic humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip. The international community has called for an immediate end to the hostilities and aid access to affected areas.
The UN agency for Palestinian refugees, UNRWA, revealed on Tuesday that families in the Gaza Strip are being forced to drink dirty seawater for their daily needs.
Thousands of Palestinian children in Gaza have been diagnosed with malnutrition, according to the World Health Organisation (WHO) report published on June 12.
At least 37,626 people have been killed and 86,098 wounded in Israel’s one-sided war on Gaza since October 7.
