Millions of Muslims from around the world have arrived in the holy land to perform Hajj this year, including 700 residents from Gaza.

Pilgrims from across the globe have reached Saudi Arabia for the annual pilgrimage. A total of 6,600 Palestinian pilgrims have travelled to the holy sites to perform Hajj, among them 700 residents from war-affected Gaza.

According to Arab media reports, Palestinian pilgrims travelled from towns and cities in the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem to Jordan before continuing their journey to the Kingdom.

Meanwhile, 700 pilgrims from the Gaza Strip arrived in Saudi Arabia via Egypt. The Palestinian pilgrims are currently staying in six hotels in Makkah.

According to the General Authority for Statistics, a total of 1,673,230 pilgrims performed Hajj last year. Of these, 166,654 were Saudi citizens or residents, while the remainder travelled from outside the Kingdom.
