Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has called for a transparent and comprehensive investigation into the death of a young girl who was killed during a shooting involving Punjab’s Crime Control Department (CCD) in Chakwal.

In a statement, Albanese urged the Government of Pakistan to ensure a full and impartial inquiry into the incident, emphasizing the need to establish all facts surrounding the case.

Meanwhile, the Australian High Commission in Pakistan said it continues to provide assistance to the family of the deceased Australian child and to two injured Australian nationals.

The High Commission stated that it remains in contact with the affected family and is offering all possible support during this difficult time.

In its statement, the mission expressed its deepest condolences and sympathies to the family of the child who lost her life in the incident.

According to reports, a CCD officer opened fire on a vehicle carrying an Australia-returned family during the night of June 10–11 in Chakwal. The shooting resulted in the death of nine-year-old Hania, while her father, Adeel, 32, and her brother sustained injuries.
