Four including two Pakistanis killed as terrorists attack Muharram gathering in Oman

Oman police on Tuesday confirmed a shooting at a mosque in Muscat’s Wadi Kabir neighborhood, resulting in four fatalities and multiple injuries.
According to local reports, an Imam bargah was attacked by terrorists on Tuesday which resulted into four casualities.
The Royal Oman Police released a statement online confirming the incident but did not provide a motive or identify any suspects.
Located on the eastern edge of the Arabian Peninsula, Oman rarely experiences such violent events.
The United States embassy in Muscat issued a security alert following the shooting and cancelled all visa appointments Tuesday.
"US citizens should remain vigilant, monitor local news and heed directions of local authorities," the embassy wrote on social media platform X.
Footage verified by AFP shows people fleeing near Imam Ali Mosque, its minaret visible, as gunshots ring out.
Police said that "all necessary security measures and procedures have been taken to handle the situation" in their statement.
