Following its defeat in the failed military campaign “Operation Sindoor” and acts of aggression against Pakistan, India has now resorted to diplomatic theatrics in an attempt to manage international fallout.

After the loss of six fighter jets, unsuccessful missile strikes, and growing global criticism, the Modi administration is attempting to deceive the world with a new strategy — placing Congress leader Shashi Tharoor at its center.

India has formed diplomatic teams comprising seven Members of Parliament from all major political parties.

These delegations are scheduled to visit key UN Security Council member states and other strategic partners later this month. Their mandate is to engage with governments, think tanks, and media outlets to justify “Operation Sindoor” and present India’s narrative.

According to Indian media, the government also plans to brief defence attachés from 70 countries, claiming that the individuals targeted in the Pahalgam attack were allegedly affiliated with terrorist organizations. India intends to present satellite imagery, intercepted communications, and other intelligence reports — a move seen by many as an attempt to mask its operational failures.

It should be recalled that on April 22, a firing incident in Pahalgam, located in Indian-occupied Kashmir, resulted in the deaths of 26 individuals.

As expected, India initially blamed Pakistan without evidence. However, after facing international backlash, the Indian government shifted its stance and attributed the attack to a group called The Resistance Front. Interestingly, the group denied any involvement in the incident.

Pakistan has called on India to present credible evidence before the international community and cooperate in an impartial investigation.

However, India has failed to provide any proof at forums like the United Nations or to Western allies, further undermining its claims.

Analysts say this latest diplomatic effort is a desperate attempt by India to justify a military failure on the international stage and distract from growing domestic criticism of the Modi government’s handling of the crisis.
