US President Donald Trump has told Fox News that the Iran deal will be signed “today” in Pakistan , adding on from an earlier interview with the New York Post in which he said Vance and the US delegation were on their way to Islamabad for the talks.
Trump added that he would be willing to meet Iranian leadership if there is a breakthrough in negotiations, stating that he has no objection to such talks.
He also said that Iranian leaders are interested in meeting him, adding, “We are dealing with the right people in Iran.”
There’s a lot of momentum that has been built on it. The Pakistani military chief spent three days during the negotiations outside of the country.
I was told by the Pakistani side that they’re monitoring all of the actions in the Strait of Hormuz, which could be an impediment or a hurdle to peace.
But we know that Pakistan’s interior minister has also been going around making a number of calls. He’s met the US ambassador. He’s also met the Iranian ambassador and assured them of full security arrangements.
The stage is set now. It is going to be up to the two sides to come to the negotiating table one more time.
