Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei said that the Iranian people will not forget what he described as Israeli and American actions against Iran, emphasizing that the new agreement does not imply forgiveness or amnesia regarding past events.

Speaking at a press briefing in Tehran, Baghaei stated that the mechanism for signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between Iran and United States is expected to be finalized within the next day or two, after which an official announcement will be made.

He said the MoU is scheduled to be signed on Friday in Geneva and that Iranian officials will visit neighboring countries before the signing ceremony.

Baghaei added that the conflict in Lebanon and across other fronts should come to an end. He said respect for Lebanon’s sovereignty, an end to hostilities against the country, and respect for its territorial integrity are key components of the proposed memorandum.

The spokesperson also said Iran plans to work with Oman and other countries to ensure safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz.

He noted that maritime service fees would be introduced for a specified period and would be implemented in line with U.S. obligations under the agreement.

According to Baghaei, the United States has committed under the agreement to address compensation-related issues and facilitate the restoration of frozen Iranian assets.

He said Washington is obligated to fulfill its commitments, stressing that the assets belong to Iran and that the country should also be allowed to export its oil and petrochemical products. He warned that failure to honor the agreement could result in reciprocal measures.

Baghaei further stated that previous attempts to remove enriched uranium from Iran had already demonstrated their consequences.

He reiterated that the agreement does not mean Iran will forgive or forget what it views as actions taken against the Iranian people by Israel and the United States. He also said many members of Iran’s leadership had been lost and argued that international organizations failed to condemn what he described as American and Israeli aggression.

According to Baghaei, the U.S. government faces a long process if it hopes to rebuild the trust of the Iranian people.
