Kuwait has announced a nationwide ban on delivery motorcycles operating during the hottest hours of the day as part of new measures aimed at protecting workers from extreme summer heat.
According to the Ministry of Interior, the restriction will come into effect on June 1 and remain in place until August 31, 2026.
The ban applies across all roads in the country and prohibits delivery motorcycle operations between 11:00am and 4:00pm daily.
Authorities stated that the decision aligns with regulations issued by the Public Authority for Manpower, which restrict outdoor work during peak midday hours in the summer months to safeguard workers from harsh weather conditions.
The ministry further explained that the move, under Ministerial Decision No. 3 of 2026, is intended to enhance workplace safety standards, particularly for delivery riders exposed to temperatures that can exceed 50°C during the summer season.
Officials have warned that strict action will be taken against companies and riders found violating the rule.
Any breach will be treated as a violation of licensing and permit conditions and may result in penalties and other legal consequences.
The Ministry of Interior has urged delivery companies and business owners to comply fully with the directive and adjust their operations accordingly to ensure the safety and wellbeing of workers during the peak summer period.
