Pakistani girls’ education activist and youngest Nobel Peace Prize laureate Malala Yousafzai has reacted to the Israeli attack on a UN school hosting displaced Palestinians in Gaza.

Yousafzai took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to reiterate her call for an "immediate" ceasefire in Gaza after the Israeli military bombarded another UN school killing dozens including children.

“I’m horrified that Israel has bombed yet another school in Gaza, where thousands of civilians were sheltering. Schools should never be targets. I reiterate my call for an immediate ceasefire — we cannot have any more innocent lives lost,” the activist wrote on X.

The UN-run school was located in central Gaza’s Nuseirat camp. At least 40 people were killed by the Israeli forces in this school, mainly women and children, as per the local government officials, reported Al Jazeera.

Horrifying videos of the aftermath circulated on social media, showing children and adults with severe injuries, intensifying calls for Israel to be held accountable for war crimes.

This attack is not an isolated incident; Israel has repeatedly bombed refugee camps in the Gaza Strip, often pushing Palestinians into designated humanitarian zones before targeting these areas under the pretext of attacking Hamas leaders.
