A young Palestinian girl, who was wearing a press uniform, shared a heartfelt message to the world, reminding people of the rights of children in Gaza, where the ongoing Israeli offensive has devastated the lives of innocent civilians.
The social media account Eye on Palestine shared a video on X of the adorable girl, wearing a journalist's helmet and press vest, along with a microphone.
Despite smiling at the camera, the little girl made an emotional plea to the world, saying, "Our rights have become a dream."
She expressed her longing for basic necessities and simple joys, saying she wants to “eat chocolates, potatoes, chicken, and meat,” adding, "I want life to be beautiful and clean."
In an interview with Al Jazeera, Save the Children’s Rachael Cummings spoke about the severe trauma Palestinian children are enduring as they witness and are affected by daily bombings, injuries, and horrific deaths.
“Children in Gaza witness things that no child should ever see,” she said.
Gaza Health Ministry's report revealed that the ongoing genocide in Gaza has claimed the lives of 710 babies under the age of one, 1,793 toddlers (1–3 years old), 1,205 preschoolers (4–5 years old), 4,205 primary school children (6–12 years old), and 3,442 high school children (13–17 years old).
The UN Special Rapporteur on the Right to Food, Michael Fakhri, submitted a report on Monday to the UN General Assembly, detailing how the food shortage and deplorable hygienic conditions in the besieged enclave pose a serious threat to the lives of Palestinians amid the Israeli military offensive.
“Israel’s ‘starvation campaign’ in Gaza is killing more people than bombs and bullets,” the report said.
The overall Palestinian death toll since the beginning of Israel’s war on Gaza has reached at least 44,502 with more than 105,454 wounded. Thousands more remain trapped under the rubble of destroyed buildings.
