Aviation authorities of the UAE stated that flights in the country have been restored to regular schedules, according to state media on Saturday, as a result of precautionary measures put in place on February 28 at the start of the war in Iran.

This decision was taken after thorough review of operational and security conditions in consultation with concerned parties, the General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) mentioned.

As per a post by GCAA, UAE is lifting all precautionary measures but will conduct real-time monitoring to make sure the realization of the highest levels of aviation safety for all.

The ongoing war between the US-Israel and Iran has resulted in cancellation, routing change, and scheduling changes of tens of thousands of flights across the globe due to the risk of missiles and drones, leading to closure of most of the airspace in the region, including in Qatar.

The situation has caused aviation its worst crisis since the pandemic, considering that Dubai International Airport (DXB), which acts as the world’s busiest airport, and other regional airports play crucial role in the travel of passengers from different parts of the world.

The conflict has also disrupted a key oil export corridor, leading to a spike in jet fuel prices, pushing fares higher on some routes and deepening concern about a broader hit to travel demand. Time-sensitive air cargo were also heavily affected.
